Joy and satisfaction

We don’t hear the word “behold” much these days, but it’s a powerful one. When the LORD says “behold,” He’s telling us to sit up and pay attention because what we are about to hear is important. Jeremiah was being sent to spread God’s Word. Earlier in this chapter, Jeremiah expressed his doubt that he was up to the task. But Jeremiah didn’t need to worry. His GOD was definitely up to the task, and his GOD would give him exactly what he needed to fulfill the mission. Now, this doesn’t mean Jeremiah was a puppet. He had a choice, just as we do. But God knew Jeremiah had a willing heart, and because Jeremiah had a willing heart, he was able to accomplish great things for the Lord despite his insecurities.

Society’s standards can be tough on us, making us feel as if we aren’t really valued. But believe me when I say, you are of immeasurable value to the One who crafted you. You have a purpose that is uniquely yours, and you have an impact to make in God’s kingdom. He will be with you every step of the way. When we submit to His authority, we find our purpose, and—in so doing—find our joy and satisfaction.
