Christ coming out of the grave shattered sin and death forevermore. His resurrection destroyed the law. Oh, the law served a purpose—it told people right from wrong. We all need to know what God views as right and wrong, because we need a standard to live by or lawlessness prevails. But imperfect humans couldn’t follow the entirety of the law, which left them insecure and floundering. So Christ came to earth and dwelt among us. He dealt with hunger and thirst, suffered pain and sorrow, battled temptation and weariness and frustration, and He did it all without ever dishonoring God. And then He died. He took the wrath of the Father God for the sins of humanity. CHRIST ended insecurity and doubt. No law can save us, but God’s perfect, blameless Son can.
