The prophet Samuel told the children of Israel, “…the Eternal One of Israel does not lie or change His mind, for He is not man who changes his mind (1 Samuel 15:29).” What we find in the Bible is as applicable today as it was when the words were penned by those inspired by God. That God does not change is one of our greatest securities. If He says He will bestow wisdom on one who asks, He will do it. If He says judgment will fall on those who refuse to accept His Son, He will follow through with that, too. He shows no favoritism. He offers salvation and the indwelling of His Spirit to ANY and ALL who believe. None are too far gone for His love to reach. As His children, we have a real obligation to show that love…even to those who seem unreachable. It’s not our responsibility to save them (only Jesus can do that under the conviction of the Holy Spirit), but it is our responsibility to point them to the One who is able to save. And we do so gently, with mercy, with acts of kindness, and with a sincere heart. These are the behaviors that bring us peace and lead others to peace.
