The psalmist asks the Lord to open his eyes so he might see His wonders. The miracle of a soul birthed into new life, FREED forever from sin’s curse, is the most personal miracle any of us can witness or experience. As you probably already know, in my “former life,” I was a 5th grade history teacher. I loved teaching the history of our amazing nation, and I wasn’t shy about sharing how important it was to our forefathers to be free from the government’s interference in the practicing of religion. Having been forced by their king to attend the church of his choice or suffer persecution, the men who crafted our Constitution made sure the government of the United States could not dictate where a man would worship. Freedom… It’s exactly what God wanted for us: free from sin’s hold; free to serve Him openly and unashamedly.
