(With my Dad’s surgeries and hospital stay, my time is a little tight, so I’m doing some throw-back devotions, all the way back to when my Bugaboos were 7 and 8. You’ll see them in some of the images this week.) Once upon a time a little boy worried and worried because his grandma was sick and he didn’t know how to help her. His Sunday School teacher told him to give his concerns to God, so the little boy wrote his worry on a slip of paper, tied the note to the string of a balloon, and released the balloon into the air. He watched until the balloon got smaller and smaller and finally disappeared. Satisfied that God had received his message, he ran out to play, free of care. We don’t have to send our concerns on a balloon to the heavens—we can offer them to God in prayer. But He is ready to receive them, and He is strong enough to carry them. If something is weighing you down, cast your cares on the Lord. He will comfort you and strengthen you.
