Father knows me, and the Father and the Son are one. He knows me…and even though He knew how imperfect and broken and worthless in the eyes of much of the world I am, He still laid down His life for me. That puts a lump in my throat. How humbling that the Son of God would choose to die for me. Another line from Francesca Battistelli’s song says, “I’m not looking for applause; I’m already so adored.” So adored—enough to sacrifice His life in a painful, humiliating, undeserved death. Why should I seek approval from anyone or anything else when I’m already loved unconditionally by the perfect, sinless Son of the Living God?
