Does this scripture make you think of the Old Order religious groups? It’s actually pretty good advice. If we keep our hands occupied doing good works, our minds will be too focused on our own behavior to gossip about someone else’s actions. *grin* Actually, the most important part of the verse, in my opinion, is WHY we should live a quiet life–not stirring up conflict or behaving in a manner that calls attention to self. We want to be respected, because we are a representation of God here on earth. Our lives should be a reflection of the Savior, who strove to point everyone’s eyes heavenward to the Father. What can you do today to reflect your Father?
