Oh, if only people hurried to do what He asks of us. No hesitation, no wondering if it’ll lead to ridicule or persecution, but simple obedience based on trust and respect. We live in a culture that creates hesitation when it comes to standing up for God and His commands. Sin is glorified and celebrated, and too often doing right is considered foolish, old-fashioned, or even hateful. This mindset shouldn’t take us by surprise—it was prophesied way back in biblical times (see 2 Timothy 4:3-4 for an example). The louder the criticism grows, the harder it is to stand firm and do what we know is right. But what more loving thing can we do than stand for right? Staying silent, allowing untruths to remain unchallenged, won’t save anyone from destruction. If we love Him, we must proclaim Him and speak the truth of His word. People are lost and dying. We have to love enough to risk condemnation. Souls depend on it.
