I remember my mom’s final hospitalization. Her body was shutting down, and she knew it. She told me she wanted to go to Jesus, the One she had loved since she was a small child, but she didn’t want to leave Dad and the rest of us. She was torn between two worlds and two loves. Paul had the same desire to go to Jesus, yet even more he desired to do what God wanted for him. Each of us have a God-ordained purpose. He alone knows when our earthly mission is done. While I’m here, I hope to serve Him, to point others to Him, to glorify Him with my life. I long for heaven, and that’s okay because it’s my true home, but I pray I use my time here wisely and waste not one chance to proclaim His name.
