If you read 1 Corinthians 12:8-10, you’ll find a list of some spiritual gifts: wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, performing miracles, prophecy, distinguishing between spirits, speaking in tongues, or interpreting various tongues. Many gifts, but One who distributes the gifts: the Holy Spirit. He doesn’t gift us for personal gain. We are to use our gifts for others. He chooses how to distribute the gifts based on the outcome He intends. Remember Jeremiah 29:11? God makes plans for His children. One of those plans is to gift us…but again, not for ourselves; for the betterment of the Body as a whole. We are ONE in the Spirit. Whatever we do affects the Body. Thus it is our responsibility to stay within His will as we exercise our spiritual gifts.
