(Psalm 33:8-9) One of the biggest changes I’ve seen in my lifetime is the deterioration of respect—respect for authority figures, for rules, for life in general. It’s rather disconcerting, and I believe it has its beginning in a lack of respect for the Creator. Think about this for a minute… No one, no matter how strong or smart or talented, has ever been able to create something out of nothing. But God SPOKE the world and everything in it into existence. Is that not reason enough to respect Him? Is that not reason to humble ourselves before Him? When we finally juxtapose God’s power and perfection and glory to our lost state, it should lead us to a place of submission, of dependence on the One who formed us in our mother’s womb. He spoke…and all time, matter, and space came into being and still stands firm. ALL creation was made by God, is sustained by God, and should obey His will.
