Nothing lasts forever. I’ve heard people use that phrase to comfort themselves when they’re in the midst of difficulty. I’ve also heard it as a warning to not get too accustomed to something or an explanation for why a piece of technology no longer works or is obsolete. The statement “nothing lasts forever” is true from a worldly viewpoint, but from God’s point of view? Not even close to true. God’s Word lasts forever. Its directions are forever applicable to life. Its gift of salvation has no expiration date. Its promises will carry with us into eternity. This is why we place our hope in HIM instead of anything the world has to offer.
