Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind… The first and greatest commandment defines what it means to be a Christian. When we involve the heart, we’re talking about the center of our being—the very essence of our life itself. Our soul is our entirety. Not one tiny piece of us should rebel against Him. Our mind is where our reasoning ability resides; it’s the decision center of our person. All we say and do should be measured against whether it is acceptable and pleasing to God. Sounds pretty tough, doesn’t it? But when we become fully committed to Him, we change. Our desires conform to the things that will honor God; we pursue things that bring glory to God. When He is first in our lives, our lives become a melody of praise that reaches to the heavens. Let your life sing to Him!
