Hymn day: “I Surrender All”

HYMN DAY! “I Surrender All” by Judson VanDeVenter is often sung during altar calls, inviting the lost one to commit himself to Christ. But it’s also a hymn that could be read as a prayer of dedication by those who’ve made a profession of faith. Although the tune is a bit somber, the words are heart-stirring.

1 All to Jesus I surrender,
all to him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust him,
in his presence daily live.

Refrain:
I surrender all, I surrender all;
all to thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.

2 All to Jesus I surrender,
make me, Savior, wholly thine;
let me feel thy Holy Spirit,
truly know that thou art mine. [Refrain]

3 All to Jesus I surrender,
Lord, I give myself to thee;
fill me with thy love and power,
let thy blessing fall on me. [Refrain]
