Sinfulness plagues mankind. But no sin is too big that it can’t be covered by God’s grace. God is able and willing to overcome human sinfulness. God has to resist the proud—the ones who say they can save themselves and don’t need to be instructed, who are scornful toward others who lean on God’s strength. How can He save someone until they acknowledge they need saving? Humility is the opposite of pride here. It’s admitting our need for a Savior, admitting we cannot navigate life in our own wisdom and strength. To those who look to Him, grace is given to meet the needs of today and tomorrow and all the tomorrows after that. His grace never runs out or dries up; it’s there for all who call on Him.
