One of my favorite verses comes from Isaiah 26, verse 3—”Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee…” Our world is kind of noisy and riotous and unpredictable. It’s so easy to get entangled in the chaos and lose sight of God’s peace. He knows what’s happening. His heart aches with those who are suffering. He is aware of every lie and unkindness. As we established yesterday, He will deal with evil-doers in the way He deems best. As for us, His followers, we need to follow King David’s example and rejoice in God. We need to keep our minds centered on Him and His greatness. This will bring us to a place of peace the world cannot possibly give nor understand. One day those who declare there is no God will discover the truth. One day those of us who love and serve God will be welcomed into heaven for our eternal reward—forever in His presence. The last part of Isaiah 26:3 says, “…because he trusteth in thee.” Our trust in Him will give us the courage to weather life’s storms and emerge triumphant. Rejoice in God; He already holds the victory.

HYMN DAY! “Praise to the Lord! the Almighty, the King of creation!” was written in 1680 by a German man named Joachim Neander. Not until 1863 were the words translated to English by Catherine Winkworth. The tune remained the same. So we’re singing an old, old hymn with wonderfully applicable…
Cling to Him
There are several references to God’s right hand in the Bible. There’s a reason for it. “Right hand” is a metaphor for the omnipotence (the unlimited power) of God. To be at the right side is to be in a special place of honor. So being upheld by God’s right…
