About 10 years ago, I visited Mammoth Cave in Kentucky. Fascinating place, and I really enjoyed my time there. Except for a roughly one-minute portion of my tour of the cave. The guide turned off the lights. Instantly, we were plunged into a darkness so thick I could feel it pressing in on me. Deep underground, miles from the sun and without so much as a candle for illumination, I literally couldn’t see my hand in front of my face. The lights came back on after sixty seconds, but those were the longest, most panicky sixty seconds I’ve ever spent. Light…it truly makes a difference. God’s Word is our light in this sin-dark world. We can rely on its truths to guide and direct us. We won’t lose our way in a sea of darkness if we stay connected to Him through His Word. If you’re feeling a little lost and uncertain today, open the Bible; you’ll find your path.
