Promises, shromises, who keeps’em? I’ve forgotten the television character who uttered this disparaging remark (maybe Laverne from Laverne & Shirley?), but sadly it’s too often true. A lot of people don’t honor promises, and every time a promise is broken, the relationship suffers. But you know who always keeps His promises? (That was a rhetorical question. Of course we know. *smile*) The Lord is always faithful. Because He keeps His promises to us, shouldn’t we repay Him by keeping His word? If we read His word, we know His expectations, which are to bring us hope and not harm. We know we can trust His Spirit to give us the strength and wisdom to keep His word even when it’s tough. We know what blessings have been promised those who keep His word. The Lord who called us to be His own is faithful to sustain us. Let us be faithful to Him and His teachings, too.
