Afflictions aren’t fun. They hurt. Sometimes physically, sometimes emotionally, sometimes spiritually…sometimes all of the above. Jesus tells us in John 10:10 (NKJV), “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Jesus came into this world to seek and save the lost. I once was lost, but now I’m found. I am His eternally. My life in heaven will be more abundant than anything I can imagine here on earth. In moments when pain grips me, turning my eyes to Him and remembering His promises brings me comfort, peace, and a joy that one who doesn’t know Him cannot possibly understand. But I know it’s mine, because He is mine and I am His. In this truth I find my deepest comfort.
