There are several references to God’s right hand in the Bible. There’s a reason for it. “Right hand” is a metaphor for the omnipotence (the unlimited power) of God. To be at the right side is to be in a special place of honor. So being upheld by God’s right hand means nothing will befall us that can’t be conquered or used by God; it means being cherished by God the Father. Knowing this, why wouldn’t we cling to Him? Remember the children’s song, “Jesus Loves Me”? We sing, speaking of children, “They are weak, but He is strong…” Mom used to say, no matter how old I got, I’d always be her little girl. No matter how old we get, we will always be God’s children. We might be weak, but that’s okay, because He is strong enough to uphold us. Cling to Him. He’ll never let you down.
