We do not live in a void. Every single one of us leaves an imprint on the world. Some imprints are “deeper” than others, but none of us lives without creating a testimony. I’m sure we know people who have left this life for eternity and we carry memories of…
There are many absolutes in the Bible. Such as Jesus is the Son of God, sent to earth to be the sin sacrifice for mankind; we cannot have a relationship with God the Father unless we have received Christ the Son; we are commanded to love our neighbor as ourself.…
We live in an “all about me” society. Things like “If it’s right for me, it’s right” or “If I believe it, it’s my truth” are pretty common thought processes. The problem is, neither of these statements are true, scripturally. Our flesh wants to make excuses for ungodly behaviors. Our…
You know, the way we conduct ourselves gives a testimony. It can be a good one or a not-so-good one, depending on how we relate to others. If we’re Christians, we are called to walk with decency. I used to tell my students, integrity is doing the right thing even…

Paul wrote a great deal in chapters 1-13 of Romans about what it means to live as a Christian as we walk this earth. If you look back at the past several weeks, we see quite a few commands. Some seem pretty hard to follow! But he wanted us to…
This verse focuses on loving others in general, but when we consider its placement in the text, we have to acknowledge the principle applies to how we relate to governmental authorities, their policies, and national issues (which is all, in essence, politics). Our love for Christ is to permeate every…
HYMN DAY! “Living for Jesus” by Thomas Obadiah Chisholm could be read as a pledge to love and serve our Savior. It’s one that always speaks to my heart. 1. Living for Jesus a life that is true, Striving to please Him in all that I do; Yielding allegiance, glad-hearted…
How interesting that Paul referred to government as God’s servant. Whether our leaders are Christians or not, they are only governing with whatever authority God has given them. The laws that are established are meant to be for the wellbeing and protection of the citizenry. People who breaks laws (and…
