I’ve probably shared this before, but I was fascinated when I learned about recognizing counterfeit money. Experts don’t learn how to spot a counterfeit by studying counterfeits; they learn by studying the real deal. Then, when something doesn’t “look right,” they know it’s a fake. We’ve got a wonderful resource available to us to recognize whether or not a “religion” is the real deal: God’s Word. If a religious practice contradicts the Bible, then it’s counterfeit. Period. Honestly, we should despise false ways because they lead so many to destruction. No matter how sincerely or fervently a person practices religion, it can’t save them. Our only saving grace is believing on, confessing, and following the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
