Do nothing wrong… Oh, if only it could be! Even the most well-intentioned people sometimes trip and fall. Since we can’t humanly be perfect, why is this verse even in the Bible? I think it’s meant as a reminder to be aware of our attitudes. Some people think it doesn’t matter how they live since God loves unconditionally. Others hold the opinion that there’s no way to do right all the time anyway, so why bother to try when we’ll inevitably fail? Others tell themselves they’re always right, even when they aren’t, in order to “save face.” Our measuring stick for rightness should always be God’s Word. When we strive to stay on the narrow pathway that leads to heaven, we’re doing nothing wrong in our efforts. Will we sometimes fail? Of course. But if we pick ourselves up and set our feet to follow His ways again, we’re less likely to make the same mistakes again. We’re on our way to rightness. Fewer regrets, closer fellowship with God, better example for the world to see. A win-win-win.
