The law was necessary. It provided a moral compass, so to speak. How else would people know they needed saving from themselves? But the law fell short in providing people with assurance. Assurance came when God sent Jesus. Jesus’s death on the cross paved the way to full assurance of righteousness. Sins were washed away by His blood. Those who turned to Jesus with sincere faith and a commitment to follow Him were given the promise of eternal life. From darkness to light; from death to life! Not because we adhered to a list of laws but because we believed in the risen Lamb. Grace, God’s grace, so much greater than all my sins. Thank You, Lord!
