1 Corinthians 3:19 says, “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.” People can speak with authority, with sincerity, with great force or tearful whispers, but unless their words align with Scripture, it’s only noise. God has given us His source of wisdom: the Bible. It’s our responsibility to study it, to meditate on it, to memorize it, to hide it in our hearts so when we need it, it’s there for us. If someone contradicts God’s Word, no matter how eloquently or fervently he speaks, he’s still wrong. Trust the Holy Spirit to guide you to wisdom. James 1:5 assures us, “Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him.” Exercise discernment; the truth sets people free.
