It makes me so sad when someone who proclaims Christianity knowingly wallows in sinful behaviors without a word of remorse. Such a poor example they set for those who are watching and seeking. It isn’t easy to live a righteous, holy life. God knew we’d struggle, and that’s why He gave us the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. It’s a daily battle to choose patience over irritation, kindness over revenge, generosity over selfishness, love over indifference. But the more we practice the Godly characteristics of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, the more natural these responses become and the better example we set. When we do fall—because we will!—then a sincere apology and effort to correct the behavior also speaks a good example. Doing what God wants pleases Him, and it also leads others to see Him in us and desire what we have.
