There’s much to be said for satisfaction, isn’t there? Being satisfied is to know we’ve had enough. (And of course, Mattie Ross’s line from True Grit—“I’ve had enough, and enough is as good as a feast”—just rolled through the back of my mind.) Enough equals contentment. Not everyone has a long life when using human measurement. But a life lived well—a life lived to bring glory to the One who formed it in its mother’s womb—is a satisfied life. When one is satisfied, he can leave with a sense of contentment and success. Those who have lived a life for Him will enter into the place reserved for the ones who received His salvation. In that moment, we will understand the purpose for every trial, will see the strength gained from each tear, and will praise Him for every single stitch that makes up our life’s tapestry. What a day that will be!
