In the days leading up to Jesus’s crucifixion, He gave His disciples many words of instruction and encouragement. He was readying them for the day when they would go forward without Him by their side. He knew there would be chaos, confusion, and feelings of abandonment. He knew they would wonder if He’d really been the Messiah, and perhaps they’d flounder in their faith. He wanted to assure them that they need not wonder if He truly was the Savior. He wanted to assure them that their futures were secure. Losing Him in such a horrific way would test their faith, but they should hold tight and remember everything He’d taught them.
When life’s hardships strike, many flounder in faith. They wonder if God is really there. The Bible assures us He is with us ALWAYS, even to the end of the age. We needn’t stumble if we hold onto His promises to never leave us or nor forsake us. He told us. We can believe Him.
