Death comes to everyone. The death of a loved one is a reason for grief. We miss them. Even grieving with hope is still grief, and it’s okay to acknowledge it. Our grief can be eased, though, when we remember that physical death is simply a delivery from the pains and heartaches of this world into the light of God’s glory. Being saved is being delivered from death; physically dying is being delivered to His eternal presence. This assurance is where we find our joy even in the midst of grief. When we remind ourselves this world is temporary, that we will reside with Jesus forever and forever, our tears turn to smiles, our stumbling to firm footsteps on the Rock of Salvation. We can continue to walk this world with His strength and in the joy of our relationship with Him.
