Paul wrote these words to the believers in Philippi a long time ago, but it’s a message we can take to heart today. When Christian brothers and sisters support each other, love each other, and work together for the betterment of the Kingdom, we bring glory to our Heavenly Father. Conversely, when those who call themselves Christians denigrate each other, snub each other, and refuse to cooperate with other believers, someone else receives the glory. How Satan must chortle with glee when he sees Christians at odds with each other. We are human, and there are some subjects on which we will likely disagree, but the way we choose to treat those with a different opinion says a great deal to the world. We don’t have to agree, but we are commanded to love. We can’t always control our feelings, but we can (and should!) control our behavior. Our goal should be to point others to Christ. I pray we will win the lost with our unity and love.
