Sometimes I look around at the messes in this world and I beg Jesus to come…come now! But even if He tarries, my faith will be sight when my soul leaves my shell behind and wings its way to heaven. This stop down here is but a blink compared to eternity with Him. When the heaviness of this earth tries to weigh me down, that’s when I remember a verse I memorized as a very young girl. I’m sure it’s familiar to you, too: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)” Death isn’t perishing; death is stepping into life eternal! Basking in that truth restores the wellness of my soul.
