Our good, His glory

This is another verse that must be carefully examined to avoid misinterpretation. We can’t run around demanding things “in Jesus’s name” for our own pleasure. Jesus came to bring glory to the Father; as His followers, our goal should be to glorify the Father in the things we say and do. Our prayer life needs to stay within the boundaries of HIS will. Does that mean we shouldn’t bring our petitions to Him? Of course not! He wants to hear from us. But we should be mindful that He knows best. When we receive a no answer, it’s because He loves us too much to give us less than what He wills for us. Whatever we receive—because He is such a good, loving, omniscient Father—is for our good and His glory.
