What consumes our minds tells a lot about where our heart is focused. Philippians 4:8 reminds us “…whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” These are the things that please and glorify our Father. These are the things that keep us from wallowing in thoughts that can rob of us peace or lead us to paths of darkness. What we think about, we become, so keeping our thoughts on things of the Spirit is very important for our spiritual well-being. The world will tug and tantalize and torment, but we don’t have to answer that call. Think about the things of the Spirit, and live in His light.
