Faith in Christ—believing that Jesus is the Son of God who was sent to earth through the virgin’s birth, nailed to a cross as the sacrifice for the sins of mankind, and rose again, conquering death forevermore—saves us from eternal damnation. Jews in Jesus’s time followed a strict set of rules. Or, I should say, attempted to follow a strict set of rules. They thought themselves better than the Gentiles who didn’t adhere to the lengthy list of do’s and don’ts. But it wasn’t following rules that saved the Jews or the Gentiles. When we receive Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior, our sins are washed away. We have right standing with God the Father. There aren’t hoops to jump through or a process of cleansing or preliminary steps to take. We must simply believe, receive…and then live for Him.
