Jesus saves

Peter—the one who declared he would die for Jesus then betrayed Him by denying a relationship with Him; Peter—the one who ran into the empty tomb searching for the Lord; Peter—the bold, the brash…raised his voice and demanded attention from the crowd of people gathered on Pentecost. After denying his Savior, wouldn’t you think Peter would be too filled with shame and embarrassment to address a crowd? What restored his boldness? Peter received Jesus’s forgiveness, and then he was filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. Restored to right relationship with the One he loved and empowered by His Spirit, he could confidently, authoritatively, with full assurance address those men who thought the believers were drunkards or fools and speak the truth. We see in Peter’s behavior the difference Jesus makes in a human life. Pay attention to my words: Jesus saves.
