Hope for the lost

When I was growing up, we had certain rules for our family. My parents didn’t care what the neighbor kids were allowed to say or do; as their child, I was expected to behave like a Vogel. A similar set of “rules” apply to children of God. Those who haven’t accepted Jesus as Lord cannot be held to the same standard as those who have made a commitment to Christ. They don’t have the Holy Spirit’s help, so it’s impossible for them to follow God’s direction. We who say we believe can’t use “but the world is doing it!” as an excuse. And we really can’t condemn the unbeliever for living in a worldly fashion. Our actions and attitudes will reflect to which “family” we belong. But there’s always hope for the lost! We’ll look at that more on Thursday.
