When my mother was five years old, she heard a preacher at a revival talk about sin and how Jesus would take all a person’s sins away if she asked. She walked to the front of the church and asked. This past Sunday would have been her 88th birthday on earth, but it’s the sixth one she’s now had with her Savior in heaven. I cannot imagine how glorious it must be for her. The law couldn’t save us; it could only point out how lost we were. But Jesus paved the way to salvation. Our flesh is weak, but His grace grants mercy. Aren’t you grateful for the gift Jesus gave at Calvary?
