God gave Jeremiah two assurances: 1) I’ll give you what you need; and 2) I will not send you alone. It is fearful to step into the unknown, especially when you aren’t sure what kind of reception you’ll receive! But God clearly instructed Jeremiah not to be afraid, because God would go with him and would deliver him. Now, if you read the whole chapter of Jeremiah, you find out Jeremiah met with some real opposition. In one case, he was beaten then put in stocks in the town square—humiliation on top of physical pain. So we might wonder…where was the deliverance? It came. But it came in GOD’s timing, in GOD’s way. And the same God who gave Jeremiah the words to speak and the courage to speak them will give US the words to speak and the courage to speak them when we must stand up against those who reject the Gospel message. He doesn’t equip all of us the same way, but He equips us for our unique purpose.
The truth is, God has a purpose for EVERY life. Every life is valuable in His sight. Our true fulfillment comes not from following society’s standards, but from knowing and doing what God has called us to do. Please remember this: You are valued; you have purpose; you, His beloved child, are never without His presence. You are eternally loved.
