My God

Here’s another personal statement—MY God. Not some omniscient being that resides far away and has no significance in his life, but One who is close enough to be called “my God.” Not only that, but he knows God well enough to say with all surety, “in whom I trust.” Trust, to my way of thinking, is even deeper than faith. Faith means you believe something; trust means you’re willing to put it to the test because you KNOW it won’t let you down. God never fails us. The more we rest in Him, the more we strive to emulate His Son, the more we draw upon His strength and wisdom, the deeper our trust in Him grows. He is worthy of our full confidence because He is fully trustworthy. We prove our trust in Him when we run to Him instead of leaning into the things of this world for comfort or guidance or strength. Can you say like Moses, “My God, in whom I trust”? I pray so.
