When we reach verse 7, we move from a theme of spiritual unity to a theme of spiritual diversity as far as giftedness. I love the word grace here, because every spiritual gift is a blessing given by God’s favor. Note this grace is give to each one. No believer is excluded. We are all called to be a witness to Jesus and the difference He makes in human lives. Additionally, we are gifted for service in the Kingdom by Christ, and He deems what is best for each of us. None of us deserve salvation, and none of us should boast that we deserve the gift we’ve been given. Neither should we belittle or complain about our gift! Every gift is given by grace for use in the Kingdom and to bring glory to the One who saved us.
