Jesus wanted to feed the thousands of people who had followed Him to the mountainside. The only food available was the insignificant lunch belonging one little boy. But Jesus instructed His disciples to have the people sit and prepare to be fed. Then Jesus blessed the loaves and the fishes, and He began to break those small buns and dried fish into pieces. And when He was done, everyone had eaten their fill, and there were 12 baskets of scraps leftover! You see, when Jesus is given our offerings—our talents, our time, our financial tithes, our willingness to serve—He never says, “It’s not enough.” He never says, “This isn’t worthy of My attention.” He never says, “Who do you think you are to bring such an insignificant gift to Me?” No. He takes what we willingly give. He blesses it. And He uses it to do abundantly more than we could do on our own.

If the little boy had kept his basket, his hunger would have been met that day. But he trusted Jesus enough to hand it over, and not only was he satisfied, but he became a part of a miracle. Afterward the people began to say, “Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.” Do you see what happens when we trust Jesus with our “loaves and fishes”? I pray we have the faith to give Him our all, no matter how “little” we think we have to give, and let Him work in and through us for His glory.
