When God makes a promise, God keeps the promise. He promised to send a Savior; Jesus came. He promised to prepare a place for us; it’s waiting. He promised to never leave us nor forsake us; He’s ever only a prayer away. He also promised that in this world we would have trouble, but then told us to TAKE HEART because He has overcome the world. There are things that happen in life that hurt us. We might wonder why, but if we remember the promise of Romans 8:28—”And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him…” (NIV)—and we remember that God keeps His promises, then we can trust we will find our rescue according to His perfect will. So if you’re in a rough place right now, take heart! Your Rescuer is near.
