The Lord is near. Do you know how I know that? Because His Word says He is, and He is Truth. The promise is smack in the middle of my life verses, Philippians 4:4-8 (verse 5b…”The Lord is near.”) Do I always feel like He’s near? No. But every time I “feel” that way, He’s not the one who moved; I’ve gotten too caught up in “feelings,” which are fickle, instead of relying on Truth. And the truth is, He is near. We feel (okay, there’s that word again, but this time I didn’t surround it with “ “) closer to Him when we’re closely following His Word. When we’re daily IN His Word. When we’re striving to learn more and more ABOUT Him and His Word. He’s always near, but we are drawn more closely to Him through obedience to His Word.
