Oh this world is full of temptations! And because we’re walking around in human skin, our nature invites us to partake of things that really aren’t best for us. Asking God to guard our thoughts and actions so sin doesn’t take control is a wise daily prayer. We all know we’re happier, freer of regret and unpleasant consequences, when we stay the steady pathway. Being tempted is part of life; giving in doesn’t have to be. I recently read an article that advised the reader to think of temptation as an ocean wave. It roars up to the beach, reaching to pull whatever it can into the water, but it always recedes…so there’s always the opportunity to escape it. In other words, there’s an opportunity to hold tight and refuse to give in. With His help, we can remain firm on His pathway. If you’re battling temptation today, send up a prayer. He’s listening, and His strength is perfect for every situation.
