A few years ago, my Sunday school class discussed how we can stand for right in a world that celebrates wrong. One of the younger members said, “Find friends who believe like you do.” Sound advice. It’s so much easier to be pulled down than it is to pull someone up. If we spend all our time with people who don’t honor God’s word, there’s a very real potential for us to cease to honor it, too. Yes, we must reach out to the lost, but being friends goes deeper. It’s relationship. The more relationships we have with those who keep His precepts, the stronger we will be. There really is strength in numbers. I pray every day for my grandchildren to choose wisely when it comes to friendships. There is no better friend than a God-honoring friend.
