Finding peace and trust

There’s a glider rocker in the sunroom at my parents’ home. My dad learned, when Mom settled into that rocker with her Bible in her lap, leave her alone. She might spend three or four hours at a time reading God’s word and praying, but even if supper was late, he knew not to interrupt. She stayed there until she’d satisfied her soul. This world can certainly drag us down with its negative messages and many sorrows. But a wise friend recently said when trials come, if she fixes her focus on God and asks Him to teach her through the hardship, she finds more peace and trust. Perhaps this is why we’re given the instruction to think about His ways. His ways uplift and deepen our faith. There’s nothing negative in that.
