“Keep ablaze…” Those simple words paint a vivid picture in my head of The Hubs strategically and mindfully layering logs in our fireplace so the fire holds a steady, crackling flame that warms the room. Keeping a fire ablaze takes attention and fuel; keeping faith ablaze takes attention and fuel. We’ve been given the gift of grace; it’s our responsibility to remember what we’ve been given and live in a way that expresses our gratitude. It’s wise for us to feed our faith with consistent time in His Word, in prayer, in meeting with fellow believers. A fire doesn’t stay burning without someone tending it; our faith will fizzle and fade without us tending it. Keep the faith! It’s the only thing we’ll carry out of this world.
