You are wonderful

Have you ever caught yourself thinking, “I wish I was (prettier/taller/smarter…); a better (singer/dancer/pianist…)”? Probably all of us at some point in time find ourselves lacking in some area. But should we? God, the mighty and awesome Creator, crafted us. He knew us before we were born, and He knew what we would look like, what dreams and desires we would ponder, what skills we would possess. As a matter of fact, He chose those details especially for us. As it says in Psalm 139, He knit us together in our mother’s womb, and His works are wonderful. That means YOU, my friend, are wonderful.

Society has a way of making us look at ourselves and feel as if we don’t measure up, as if we aren’t as valuable as the rich or powerful or beautiful (according to its standards). Please don’t fall into the pit of allowing society to define your value. God the Creator lovingly made you. You aren’t a cookie cutter-assembly line creation—you are a unique individual, priceless and irreplaceable. When He crafted you, He had a purpose in mind for your life—a purpose that would complete you and bring you more joy than anything society has to offer. We’ll explore that concept all week.
