Can you take delight in something with which you are unfamiliar? Probably not. To take delight in the Lord, we have to know Him intimately. We get to know Him intimately by spending time in His Word and talking to Him in prayer, by growing in faith and trust. The more we know Him, we more we want to please Him. We please Him by seeking and following His will. In His will, we find peace, joy, and contentment. Peace, joy, and contentment is every heart’s desire. Do you see how this comes full circle? Our delight in Him leads us to our deepest heart’s desires. It starts with “My Jesus, I love Thee…”
