Speak boldly

It’s so much easier to hush than be bold when it comes to sharing the truth of the Gospel. Our culture raises a “don’t offend me” battle cry, and people who take a stand for faith are often ridiculed. (Some people really don’t like being told they’re lost). Because we don’t know what kind of reception we’ll get when we speak of Jesus, we might think it’s better to quietly live our faith. But in this time of unrest and false teachings, it is so important for Christians to stand up for Christ. If someone speaks ill or otherwise denigrates one of my family members or close friends, I’m likely to speak in their defense. Should we not do the same for our Savior? The Holy Spirit will give us the words, the wisdom, and the courage to speak truth, and we must speak truth because there are still many, many who do not yet believe. No shrinking like a turtle into its shell—speak unashamedly of the grace that set you free. Others need to hear and believe.
